A native of St. John’s, Douglas Clouston has been working with glass, specializing in jewellery for almost a decade. Douglas was inspired to self-educate himself in the medium and then went on to study flamework at Red Deer College in Alberta, where he was educated by Bandu Scott Dunham and Alex Kapran. He was the founding member of Ourglass Collective Studio in Nelson, BC in 2003. Ourglass is a collective of glass artists combining ancient flamework techniques with inspiration from the natural elements of the surroundings. Douglas returned to St. John’s in 2004 to develop a studio and his craft in Newfoundland and Labrador.
